Description:
Case Name: Candes Prewitt v. Kamal Brown
Court: Supreme Court of Tennessee at Nashville
Appeal No.: M2017-01420-SC-R11-CV

Candes Prewitt filed an Application for Permission to Appeal with the Tennessee Supreme Court on June 29, 2018, seeking to overturn a ruling by the Tennessee Court of Appeals. Representing Kamal Brown, McLemore Law PLLC filed a response in opposition to the petition, arguing that the Court of Appeals’ decision should stand.

Ms. Prewitt submitted an 85-page pleading in her attempt to persuade the Tennessee Supreme Court to hear the case. After careful consideration, the Supreme Court denied the Application on September 13, 2018, thereby affirming the lower court’s ruling and bringing the matter to a close.

A formal Destruction Notification was later issued by the Court of Appeals on March 19, 2019, officially marking the end of the litigation.
